Living Stones News / Mt Hermon
Herald Spring 1999
A periodic newsletter reporting on the ministry of the Hull family on the Israel/Lebanon
border.
Greetings from the Galilee in the powerful name of Yeshua!
Our youngsters are growing up! David is now 16. He is helping his dad prepare a new
computer for use in broadcasting all our music from the hard drive. This involves a lot of
technical know-how. David seems to be an expert in this kind of thing, so I go to him for
advice all the time!
Laura is now 18, and she is starting to minister on the radio now. She is doing a two and
a half hour English music shift on short-wave in the afternoons and seems to enjoy the
opportuinity to express her faith and encourage the listeners. She has also found ways to
connect with singers and songwriters to help us get some badly needed new music sent over
here. Thank the Lord!
Our new short-wave transmitter is supposed to be shipped from Costa Rica around the end of
March. Please pray for a successful journey and that the installation here will go
smoothly. We've all been very busy lately and I will let Laura tell you part of the story
this time, since she enjoys sharing good news with our dear friends and prayer partners.
Laura writes, "Over the past three months the Lord has been pouring out His Spirit
throughout the Galilee. The Lord started His outpouring as we discovered the openness to
the Lord in the village of Ghajar. The people in this village claim to love Jesus very
much. Many have asked Jesus into their hearts and are now born-again
believers. We still have no idea how many have given their lives to HIM. But
we have given the "Jesus" video in Arabic to almost the whole village and at the
end of the movie is the plan of salvation and the sinner' s prayer. The Lord has
given us such a love for the people that we feel as if we could burst. The time is
so short and the workers are so few. We are praying for miracles that would
reveal the glory of the Lord so that many will believe and their faith will be
strengthened. The village of Ghajar also needs to have regular Bible study meetings
or a congregation planted. Please pray the Lord will work all things according to
His will. The ones that have the Lord in their heart need to grow in Him and need to
fellowship with others that do as well. As we walk down the
streets of this village, we feel something different that fills us with joy. The
barefoot children run when they see us and ask for pictures of Jesus, Bibles and books,
and anything we have about Jesus. They beg us to tell them a story. We were
blessed to have a translator, named John, to be able to come with us regularly and help us
as we visit the people in their homes. Recently when we were in the village,
the children ran after us and broke down a fence and said, "In the name of Jesus,
give me a book!" As we travel we have begun to see an enormous change in the
Galilee. Everywhere, people are now open to Jesus.
We have also started visiting a Druze village, Ein Kunya, on the Golan
Heights. We had been there before, but not for a long time, since we had been so
preoccupied with the village of Ghajar. We discovered that an elderly Christian lady was
living all by herself in the center of this Druze village in very poor conditions.
There are only two families in the town that are "Christian" by name. This
woman, Janette, had taken care of a Maronite church for many years. There were
two churches in the town. The one behind her home had been destroyed. As we
visited her in her home, Mom started crying because all the windows were broken and the
cold air was blowing hard into the room. This had gone on for over 30 years! This poor old
woman had no electricity and no water or toilet. A few days later at a ladies
meeting, Lorraine called on the women to pray for Janette and this Druze village.
After the meeting, someone donated money for the windows. Soon afterwards, some
Jewish believers also gave for Janette's windows. We were able to get a window-maker
from the same village to put in the glass. He was excited to help out and was really
touched that someone was finally going to help this woman.
One day, while we were there helping make curtains for her, some young boys were curiously
watching what we were doing. We gave them three of our radios and soon there
were kids from all around wanting to know what was happening. When the other kids
wanted radios we opened the car and they all spotted the JESUS videos and begged for
them! We had grown men
come up and ask for them. We made sure they knew what they were getting and
they still wanted it! The Druze people have a secret religion and most of their
people do not even know what they are supposed to believe. There are very strong
evil spirits that need to be bound, but the Lord is strong, and in the end He is
victorious. As we went to Caesaria Philippi at the base of Mt. Hermon, where Peter
told Jesus He was the Son of God, we were standing by the side of the road praying near an
old bombed out church. All at once a man stopped his car and hollered out, "You
gave me a radio!" We greeted him and we were blessed to have a woman that spoke
Arabic and was a strong believer in Yeshua. She went over to his car and could see the
earnestness in the man's face. He had already watched the JESUS video and was
seeking. She told him how much the Lord loved him and that only God knew what hurt inside
and cared for him with so much love. She encouraged him to seek after the
Lord. There was another man inside whom she felt thought that what she was saying
was ridiculous. She looked right at him and said, "And you have to
repent! The thoughts you were thinking were not right." He was shocked
and said, "Yes, Yes, I need to repent". They invited us to their home and
a friend of ours has already visited one of them. Many things have taken place and
we are in a spiritual battle.
The salvation of the people in the land of Israel is what we want to see. Our main focus is in the Galilee and Golan Heights where the Lord Yeshua lived and ministered throughout his life. We are praying for the people here to see His Light. "Land of Zebulan and the land of Naphtali, the way to the sea, along the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles- the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the shadow of death a light has dawned." Matthew 4:15 Please join our family for the intercession of the salvation of the Galilee.
Gary concludes: High Adventure Radio obtained a Lebanese cellular phone in December to enable our listeners to call in for song dedications, prayer requests and testimonies. We have seen marvelous results as listeners from Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt and, this week for the first time, Saudi Arabia are calling in to testify about how much the broadcasts mean to them. We thank the Lord for each life He is blessing! We received over 400 calls in one month. One listener described how her husband beat her and threw her out of the house because of her faith. But she refused to be intimidated. She returned back home and continued her regular prayers, this time in the bathroom. Her husband found her and rebuked her, but she rose up and declared, "You can beat me and throw me out, but you cannot get inside my heart to take my Lord Jesus out from there!" The husband withdrew, ashamed and went to the church he had forbidden her to attend and got a Bible for her! God has given this woman great faith to persevere.
That's what we want to do in these troubled times: keep on telling
people everywhere the gospel of our Lord!
"Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone
according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,
the Beginning and the End."
"The Spirit and the Bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say,
"Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take
the free gift of the water of life." Rev. 20
Please remember in prayer: 1. The Israeli election to be held May 17th.
2. The Israeli general over their operations in south Lebanon was killed in a roadside
bomb just four miles from the radio station. The military situation here is very tense
now. God is our refuge!
3. Laura will travel to Cyprus with her youth group for a ministry tour the first week in
April.
4. Laura's new radio ministry
5. Gary's music on computer project
6. The new shortwave transmitter set up in April.
7. Outreach in the villages of the Golan Heights
8. Luba, a local Israeli believer needs prayer as her husband just died. He was a
believer for the past year.

Shalom,
I am not sure what you may want to do with this, please email me you decision. We
also have more prayer request like a possible church that people in North Israel could
have by rebuilding the bombed out one at Ceasuria Philipi. That is where Peter said Jesus
was the son of God and where Jesus said on this rock he would build his church. Right now
there are no churches in the North Galilee near Mount Hermon.
We do meet in houses but it would be so wonderful is somehow we could get permission and
help to rebuild this old church. People from all over the North could worship there.
This week we had Alilwee men say that they wanted a church that they could go to every
day, with a bell and a Praise team! (Alilwees are a off shoot of Islam!)
Praise the Lord, He is coming soon!
